A record of what the board decided.

Decisions lock when the verdict is recorded, with the tally stamped on them. An amendment supersedes the record and links back to it.

Early adopters install it directly today, as a managed solution in your own Dataverse environment. The early adopter page says how to get the current terms.

Decision Detail, a custom page inside the model-driven app. The verdict was recorded on 13 Apr 2026, the record locked at that moment, and the split tally stays on it. Sample committee and names.

How a decision moves

Five states. Each one leaves a record that the next one links to.

  1. A member drafts the decision, attaches the briefing and submits it to the committee for approval.

The draft carries its briefing and the record it will amend.
  2. Voting members approve or reject on the decision workspace. They can also abstain or recuse, and the Chair or Secretary records who was absent. A rejection needs a written reason.

Four choices on the vote, and the running tally.
  3. A decision locks when voting closes and the system computes the verdict. The split tally is stamped on the locked record with the voting policy and the verdict date. Changes go through an amendment.

Activity on the decision: the last vote, the verdict, the tally, and an edit the plugin refused two minutes later.
  4. Amendments route through the same approval, and the original is marked superseded.

The record that was amended, pointing forward. Its own tally stays on it.
  5. The board adopts the minutes at the next meeting. The adoption motion becomes a locked decision with the minutes file attached.

The adjourned meeting record, pointing to the decision that adopted its minutes.
Draft. The draft carries its briefing and the record it will amend.

Try to break a governance decision.

Walk a real decision from draft to approval, then attempt to edit the locked record. It takes 90 seconds and runs entirely in your browser.

  1. Draft a decision and submit it for approval.
  2. Cast the votes under one of the three policies: unanimous, majority of votes cast, or two-thirds.
  3. Try to edit the locked record. Then propose an amendment instead.

The lock is a C# plugin that runs on the server before the database transaction opens, so a refused edit never reaches the database. The same plugin answers the Web API.

The refusal is the plugin's own message, quoted verbatim. The form refused the edit, and so did the Web API, the route a script or Excel would use.

Today

Anyone with folder access can change the number. Nothing records who was eligible, who abstained, or when the verdict was recorded.

With SteadyState

The vote is recorded on the decision. The record locks with the tally stamped on it. Adopting the minutes is a locked decision of its own, with the minutes file attached.

What we make

  • SteadyState Governance

Governance that runs inside your Microsoft tenant. Committees make decisions and the database locks the approved ones. The audit trail builds as work happens.

Dataverse model-driven app. Installs as a managed solution.

  • SteadyState suite

In development: twelve small operations apps on SharePoint lists in your tenant: assets, audit, board, compliance, expenses, expiry, facilities, incidents, onboarding, purchases, vendors and visitors. The Hub will put their dates on one calendar.

SteadyState Hub will be free and will install without a license key.

People without a seat need no SteadyState license. Anyone can share a verdict with them by Teams or email. Opening the record in the app needs a seat.

SteadyState installs as a managed solution in your own Dataverse environment. Your Entra ID, your security roles, and the Dataverse audit log apply.

Optional Teams notifications can be turned on later. They are off by default.

  1. 1Annual option: 12 months upfront at about $200 per user per year.
  2. 2SteadyState is a premium Power App, so each seated user also needs Power Apps licensing from Microsoft. The per-app plan, $5 per user per app per month, is sufficient. Users who already hold Power Apps Premium are covered. Verified 2026-10-14 against Microsoft's Power Platform licensing FAQ.
  3. 3The optional Teams flow is off by default. When it is on, it posts approved decisions from unanimous-consent committees to a committee channel. Otherwise someone shares the verdict by hand.

Who it is for

Six kinds of board, each with its own page.

Common questions

Why not SharePoint lists and Teams?
You can run a board that way, and many do. A list row can be edited after the vote, and nothing on it checks who was eligible or stops an edit after the vote. In SteadyState Governance the tally is stamped on the record when the verdict is recorded, and any change goes through an amendment.
Who needs a seat?
People who draft, vote or run meetings in the app. People without a seat need no SteadyState license. Anyone can share a verdict with them by Teams or email.
Where does our data live?
Your governance records stay in your Dataverse environment. SteadyState has no copy of them.
